Here's the snazzy interior of La Boulange, officially opened June 12 and serving the denizens of Mid-City along La Brea Avenue. Yes, that La Brea, that was (and is again) the home of iconic L.A. bakery, will certainly get some heat from this new competitor. La Boulange was acquired by Starbucks to revamp their entire pastry lineup, but part of the deal included an expansion of the Bay Area cafe and bakery across the U.S., with this L.A. location as the first outside expansion. Take a walk around and check out the menus below.

Of course, coffee comes via Starbucks, along with shaken iced beverages, "super thick" shakes, and specialty lattes that bring a little more creativity to the standard issue espresso drink. In addition, beer, wines, and house cocktails, for a little European-style day-time drinking.

As for bites, breakfast sandwiches, soups, salads, lunch time sandwiches, various types of french fries, and burgers. Currently open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
