Here's the full lineup of the 1st Annual Food GPS Rib Festival taking place on July 13 in Chinatown's historic Central Plaza. Yes, right where a statue of the late kung foo master Bruce Lee stands. With rib-oriented bites coming from Chad Colby of chi SPACCA, Vartan Abgaryan of Cliff's Edge, Eduardo Ruiz of Corazon y Miel, Freddy Vargas of Scarpetta, and Jason Neroni of Superba Snack Bar, expect a bone-tickling time of cocktails, beers, and desserts for a sunny afternoon.
There are twelve chefs in total participating, including Matt Poley of Heirloom LA, David Danhi of Grilled Cheese Truck, Chris Oh of Seoul Sausage Co./Escala, Eric Tjahyadi of Komodo, Johneric Concordia of The Park's Finest BBQ, Bryant Ng of The Spice Table, and the guys behind Mexicali Taco & Co.
Dishes will either be slow cooked, grilled, or even steamed, making this one epic summertime barbecue. Tickets run $65 pre-sale and $75 at the door while $90 VIP (advance) tickets allow early admission and reserved seating.
