ACME Group Bringing Laurel Tavern to Hermosa Beach

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

ACME Hospitality Group is on the move again, this time southward to Hermosa Beach's Game Changers sports bar. And for the first time, the group is doubling down on one of their existing concepts: Laurel Tavern, which is the most successful and one of the longer lasting concepts they've established over the years in Studio City.

ACME, led by William Shamlian, Michael Leko, and Jonny Valenti, is taking over the bar shortly with just a beverage program to take advantage of the brisk summer business in Hermosa, then taking time afterwards to transform the kitchen to accommodate the gastropub menu from Laurel Tavern. The group recently debuted Beelman's Pub in Downtown next to Spring Street Bar. They're also changing up Lucy's 51 in Toluca Lake.
