Santa Barbara's McConnell's Ice Cream, which had announced that it was opening a location in Downtown L.A., has finally settled on Grand Central Market, which already has a number of spots serving ice cream. Debuting in early July, the artisanal producer would definitely up the game for the market, which has been languishing from generic ice cream for quite some time. McConnell's, which already sells their pints in places like Gelson's and Whole Foods, specializes in seasonal flavors and a small batch method. Along with Salt & Straw and Big Gay Ice Cream, it's yet another brand name creamery making their mark on L.A. in the coming months.
