Here's Ball & Chain, the Spacecraft-designed gourmet meatball and beer hall from Mark Kreiner, who also did The Morrison in Atwater Village. Debuting June 2 at 12 p.m., hours run right up until midnight every day. Touting a pub-friendly menu by Michael Ruiz (Cobras & Matadors, Saltbutterpork), meatballs come via salad (this is L.A.), a la carte, on sliders, or on a hoagie. Pair the balls with a massive menu of 120 beers, 20 of which are California craft on tap.

Inside, something that feels like a subway tunnel, but with black tiles instead of white. Smooth metal, incandescent lights, and the general ambiance that's conducive to a guy's (or girl's) night out. A nice departure point for anyone heading to the music venues or clubs in the area, Ball & Chain's one more nice addition to the ever-crowded scene on Hollywood's Cahuenga Blvd.
