Roadhouse LA, the ambitious barbecue restaurant from Adam Fleischman's AdVantage Partners and Robbie Richter that opened in February, is changing things up to accommodate IMPROV's comedy club that tends to frequent the place. Roadhouse picked up some early positive words from bloggers but never really got steady traffic from non-comedy club goers.
After Richter bowed out inexplicably early, journeyman chef Kyle Schute stepped in to helm the kitchen. Now comes word that Roadhouse LA's menu is offering more "traditional" fare after locals and comedy club goers failed to recognize it as a stand-alone, destination restaurant. See the full statement from AdVantage, which continues to run the location, below:
"Roadhouse LA is and remains an AdVantage concept. Our first location at the IMPROV on Melrose has met with some critical success, but our diners seem to have had trouble seeing past the (perhaps overwhelming) comedy club location as a stand-alone destination restaurant. Recently, the IMPROV has decided they want to offer more of the traditional fare to their patrons, so we are discussing."· All Roadhouse LA Coverage [~ELA~]
