With the barbecue season in full swing, Long Beach's homegrown spot, Lucille's Smokehouse, has opened its newest location at one of the busiest intersections in the city at 2nd and PCH. With the closure of the Belmont Shore location just down the road, this new spot stands on the ground hallowed ground that once housed the same restaurant group's landmark Hof's Hut that was shuttered last year to the sound of protests.
With the pits roaring as of June 24th, the new Lucille's is promising to satisfy with its own fireworks leading up to the 4th and filling the air with hickory smoke now. —Matthew Bragman
