Finally, after a year of building out the old Central in Santa Monica, welcome The Chestnut Club, a new cocktail bar from Steve Livigni and Pablo Moix (Scopa), in tandem with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi, right smack in the center of Santa Monica. Evoking a classy, Old World design with plenty of antique lighting, plush Chesterfied sofas, and even a fire place to warm up next to, The Chestnut Club officially opens July 1.

With the buildout by Greg Stewart and CK Cole Construction, it feels a bit like an extension of Venice's Scopa but with an even more elaborate set of drinks designed by Moix. Think The Chestnut Cup, a refreshing glass of gin, Campari, lemon, and orgeat, or The Ocean Park, combining Jamaican rum, pineapple, lime, ginger, and soda.

In addition to a those cocktails, find a Spanish-inspired list of rotating Gin & Tonics, perfect for the warm weather ahead in the next few months while a set of 350 bottles should cater to most booze house, with a heavy emphasis on American Whiskey and Agave. The tunes will also be no slouch, thanks to Sean Patrick and Livigni, who's an accomplished DJ himself.

Open nightly from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
