Sad news for all fans of love and good butchery today. The longtime team Lindy and Grundy (aka Amelia Posada and Erika Nakamura) have amicably split, reports the LA Times, with Nakamura leaving for New York last week. Calling it "the hardest decision," Posada plans to stick behind Lindy & Grundy, the namesake butcher shop storefront they co-owned along Fairfax.
Posada does plan to change things up a bit at the shop now that Nakamura, who handled the bulk of day to day animal breakdown, has moved on. Describing herself as "the community shop mama," Posada will push for a wider selection of premade meals and side dishes in the deli cases up front — things like sandwiches, meatballs, chili and smoked meats, all made in-house. So for neighbors in the area, the unexpected split presents a great opportunity to enjoy a whole new batch of fantastic Lindy (& Grundy) products. —Farley Elliott
