Coconut Club Pop-Up Brings Tiki Kitsch to Downtown

New, 2 comments

Consider this dinner to be an expansion on a theme. Despite the springtime closure of Trader Vic's downtown, tiki is alive and somewhat revived in Los Angeles of late. Now, enter The Coconut Club, a ticketed pop-up dinner that's long on the Hawaiian-print kitsch.

Run by private chef Andy Windak (who AKA's as Chef Wind Attack) the twenty-seat downtown dinners run $100 and include tiki drinks, whimsical takes on Americanized island food and, yes, lots of coconuts. Grab tickets for July 10 and 11 here, using code falernum. —Farley Elliott
