After languishing for months, the former South location in Santa Monica has been taken over by Maria's Italian Kitchen, the neighborhood chain that has spots in West LA and Downtown. South had closed because of legal problems, with a farm-to-table sports bar supposedly slated to take over. Looks like spaghetti and meatballs instead. [Toddrickallen]
