Marc Elliot's been up to something in Sierra Madre, and his new place, dubbed Old School Eatery, started shaking up culinary expectations for foothill denizens on July 8. The Brooklyn chef, most recently at Vintage Enoteca and Tuning Fork in Studio City, brings a slew of fun takes on childhood classics. Think corn dog lollipops, brisket pita pizza, a cronut bacon burger, and a cappuccino chocolate pudding. With a nod toward local ingredients, Old School Eatery also whips up drinks like Melontin, using watermelon juice and soju, as well as the Stonefruit Sangria, with peach, plum, and apricots. Hours run 12 to 10 p.m., with brunch service commencing within a few weeks.
