Gentaro Soba, a two-outlet chain from Tokyo, is now serving 7thAtFig in the middle of Downtown's Financial District with a slew of various buckwheat noodle dishes like chicken and beef soba. All the noodles are made on site and cooked to order, a relative rarity in L.A. Of course, the standard dippable zaru soba is available, along with some hot soba dishes and rice bowls.
Throw in some tasty sides like chicken karaage, shrimp and veggie tempura, and some spicy popcorn shrimp, and you have a handy Japanese lunch and snack spot that should be a boon for the local cubible dwellers. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and until 7 p.m. on weekends.
