Here's a classic photo of The Abbey in West Hollywood back in 1991. Notice, no crazy building, no alcohol. Just a bunch of folks enjoying a Sunday barbecue with $1 sodas. Ah the good ol' days. Now, The Abbey is one of the most famous and notable gay nightclubs in the country. A 10 ounce martini, anyone?
