The Petit Trois Waiting Game Has Officially Started

Here's the first gander inside Petit Trois, a very small eatery with 20 some seats, all bar-style, and some standing room, with a completely open kitchen that will have the likes of Ludo Lefebvre and Sydney Hunter III behind the stoves. In addition to chef partners Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, this is surely one highly anticipated bistro that will feature classic French dishes done right. An opening STILL hasn't been officially announced but the space has been done for weeks now. According to an interview in Eater National, there might be a permit issue holding up the opening.

In the meantime, check out the parade of amazing dishes on Ludo's instagram, which shows a delectable Napoleon, Burgundy escargot, pomme frites, roast chicken and steak tartare. However, there are some American infusions into the French cooking as well: a burger and what looks like a braised chicken leg. While the lauded Trois Mec next door has been one of the most highly regarded restaurants to open in L.A., perhaps Petit Trois will in fact be the common man's favorite, with Ludo's expert touch on familar dishes.
