Red O Invading 41 Ocean Restaurant in Santa Monica

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

41 Ocean Restaurant shuttered not too long after opening to the public in order to better accommodate the private dining requirements of the private club located just behind the restaurant. Now the Matt Winter-designed interior of 41 Ocean will become Red O, the Rick Bayless restaurant that was originally supposed to go into Ma'Kai just up the street, reports Toddrickallen. Seems like a much better fit to go into 41 Ocean since that place isn't even really being used on a daily basis. According the Red O team, which confirmed the move, the restaurant is slated to open by February 2015 with a seafood and steak-centric menu.
