The Oyster Gourmet, the long-awaited purveyor of those slippery bivalves, has finally broken ground after nearly a year of just a sign marking the spot.
Located next to G&B Coffee at Grand Central Market, this formerly open dining space is now covered with black tarpulin. No word yet on the opening date, but unless they intend to prepare hot courses, it shouldn't be too long of a build out.
Owner Christophe Happillon has been roving around the city with numerous pop-ups and random appearances, but this will be his first permanent space.
