After the closure of Dusty's, a rough neighborhood dive in Garvanza, Todd Conner and wife Ilka Cuesta remade the place as The Offbeat. LAist reports that the place is finally grand opening to the public tonight at 5 p.m. with happy hour until 9 p.m. with $1 off beers and $5 cocktails. Hours run daily until 2 a.m., providing a nice simple bar option for Highland Park denizens.
As for drinks, nothing too crazy, just a few specialties and the standard issue "bar" staples. Also, some sipping whiskies and beer. Overall, despite a pretty swanky interior and groovy exterior, The Offbeat aims to be nothing else except a neighborhood watering hole, which is probably fine by most accounts.
