Momed Now in Atwater; Mercado's Saturday Brunch

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

ATWATER VILLAGE—Momed by Alex Sarkissian has taken over the expansive indoor-outdoor space that was once The Crossing, bringing Mediterranean dishes like mezze, smoked veal tongue, pork T-bone, and other specialties to a sleepy stretch of Atwater. Consulting chef Jeremy Strubel, who worked at Bastide and Rustic Canyon, is adding a few more dishes that incorporate local, organic ingredients. Sarkissian also gave the place a bit more flavor in terms of decor. [EaterWire]

WEST THIRD—Mercado on West Third is starting Saturday brunch this week from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Menu items include chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. [ELA]

MELROSE—Free Range LA, a fried chicken specialist truck, is parking outside Domaine LA this Sunday, August 3, from 3 to 6 p.m. while Jill Bernheimer pours "Island" wines from Corsica, Sicily, and the Canaries. The tasting runs $15 per person while food is a la carte. [EaterWire]
