Philz Coffee, the lauded and beloved coffee shop from San Francisco, is nearly ready to make its mark on Southern California, landing first in Santa Monica on July 10 with a soft opening. With CEO Jacob Jaber behind the expansion of the Bay Area brand to L.A., Philz is hoping to add something completely new to already crowded specialty coffee game, namely with an espresso-less menu that focuses on customization.

Step up the counter and order directly with baristas, who will brew cups right before customers, adding in all milks, flavorings, and other ingredients so that drinks are ready to go after payment. Wander around the space, which fits right at home in Silicon Beach.
