Shiki's 4-Course Lunch; Free Range at Commissary

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

BEVERLY HILLS—Shiki is now doing a 4-course lunch for $60, including two sushi courses and two appetizers, all chosen by the chef. So, you'll have to trust executive chef Shigenori Fujimoto with your selections, which might be something like Wagyu beef tohban or miso seabass with peach compote. [EaterWire]

HOLLYWOOD—Free Range LA is now parked permanently outside of Coffee Commissary on Fairfax from 7 to 11 a.m., then over to Commissary at Siren Studios from 12 to 2:30 p.m. It's part of a new partnership between Free Range's Jesse Furman and Coffee Commissary's Tyler King. Try the chicken burgers, honey sriracha fried chicken biscuits, or the signature fried chicken sandwiches. [ELA]

DOWNTOWN—ChocoChicken is throwing a beer & bourbon fest on August 16 from 1 to 6 p.m. (is this another Fried Chicken Fest competitor?). Jack Daniels will be around giving samples of their full line, for anyone interested. [EaterWire]
