Construction is wrapping up at The Argyle, the swanky boutique nightclub and craft cocktail den concept being spearheaded by Travis Bass and James Anderson of Bass Anderson Management Group and George and Peter Younan of Tru Hospitality Group. The grand opening will be August 19. The historic space might have been fitted with impressive 3D LED tubes and L.A.'s first two-story V.I.P. table at the nightclub level, but it's the names attached to the venue that seems to be generating more intrigue.

Mixologist Chris Hewes, who succeeded Matthew Biancaniello at the Library Bar and eventually opened the beverage program at Rustic Canyon, will be taking his talents to the historic Hollywood and Vine district to head the beverage program at the Argyle. Expect "challenging" craft cocktails and a small plates menu in the coming weeks.

Cody Spiegel and Allen Ladd, who worked at VIP Services at Drai's (which also happens to be Bass and Anderson's former place of work) will be joining their former teammates at The Argyle as the Director of VIP Services and Director of Customer Development, respectively. Spiegel was most recently a Director at DBA Hollywood. —Euno Lee
