The cajun seafood trend hasn't quite swept the city, but it's slowly moving to untapped parts of town, such as The Cracking Crab in Montrose, which opened on August 4. With an array of seafood like buttery garlic shrimp, crawfish, dungeness crabs, fried oysters, and more. Most of the early Yelpage has been overwhelmingly positive, a boon for a block that hasn't had too much in the way of compelling dining of late. Throw in a decent sake and beer program, and Montrose has one quasi eating destination to boast of (perhaps La Cabanita being the other). Open 3 to 10 p.m. weekdays, and starting at noon on weekends.
