Breaking news on this Thursday morning: Stephane Bombet (Picca, Faith & Flower) is launching a new restaurant project with Kris Morningstar in the former Sirena location on Beverly Blvd called Terrine. The California brasserie will feature the former Ray's & Stark Bar chef's bold approach to local ingredients in one of the most impressive restaurant spaces (and especially one of the best outdoor patios) in the city. Sirena's short-lived days will now hopefully turn into something with more permanence behind the helm of Bombet at the front and Morningstar in the kitchen. Terrine is slated to open by the end of 2014 after a full interior refresh.

Bombet has been angling to open his first solo venture for some time, after successfully debuting Picca with Ricardo Zarate and Downtown's Faith & Flower with Coastal Luxury Management. While Bombet remains a co-owner in those two previous ventures (with continued active involvement at Faith & Flower), Terrine will represent his first project with new celebrity partners Jesse Tyler Ferguson of ABC's Modern Family and Brett Gurewitz, music producer and guitarist for Bad Religion.

Since Morningstar departed Ray's, he's been doing a weekend brunch pop-up at The Gorbals, which will continue for the time being.
