Here's the sleek environs of KazuNori, a diminutive den dedicated to the art of one thing: perfectly warm sushi hand rolls served right to diners sitting around a square counter. If Kazunori Nozawa, who's since retired but still oversees the fish buying operation of his growing namesake empire, SugarFISH, can make one more upon the canon of LA's sushi world, it's the blue crab hand roll.
Served at the end of nearly every meal at SugarFISH, this simple delight features a crispy sheet of nori, or seaweed, wrapped around warm sushi rice and blue crab. KazuNori takes that format and expands it to a selection of three, four, or five hand rolls served to order. Officially open tomorrow but currently soft opening commenced this past weekend in Downtown serving from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
