The first Ramen Yokocho Festival had one notable Japanese ramen specialist that decided that this side of the Pacific Ocean would work nicely for another outlet. Kitakata Bannai, which featured some insanely marbled pork belly chashu, and garnered some of the longest lines of the festival, has opened a shop in Costa Mesa. Grand opening today (though they've been soft serving for a week or so), the broths here tend to be almost consomme-like, a stark contrast to the fat-laden tonkotsu broths seen at most other shops. Currently open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
