That was short and not very sweet. Glazed Donut Bistro, the media-hyped gourmet shop in WeHo that was supposed to transform L.A.'s donut scene barely lasted six months. A tipster writes in to say that a 3-day notice to pay $8,800 in back rent has been posted on the window, making it unlikely that the bistro's coming back any time soon. The desperation seemed to grow over the months, as they started offering $1 beers, then most recently at the start of August, all donuts for a mere $1, all day and every day.
In July, they changed the hours to Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Not a recipe for success. But who's to blame for this failure? Perhaps it was the terrible font choice for the logo: Papyrus.
