La Pergoletta, that Italian spot (by way of Brazil) that took over the old Dumb Starbucks space on Hillhurst , is now serving solid selection of fresh, affordable pastas priced between $9-13.

Opened some time earlier in September, the red checker tables, lasagna, gnocchi, and even tiramisu are all in order. It should provide some steady competition to a place like Il Capriccio nearby on Vermont Avenue.

And while it won't draw the insanity that the coffee gimmick did, it's a refreshing find for Los Feliz denizens.
