Rest assured, fans of Hamburger Hamlet. Though down for the count earlier this year, their final location in Sherman Oaks has been acquired by Killer Shrimp's Kevin Michaels and Brett Doherty. Quietly reopened on September 13, the duo has refreshed the menu with some new additions while keeping the popular items that many people loved growing up. The current interior will get an extensive remodeling beginning early 2015, so anyone who wants to soak into those red booths will have a few more months to enjoy them. Until then, check out the re-born Hamlet and delve into some of those old favorites on the menu.

Michaels and Doherty also plan to use this outlet as a launch pad to open more Hamlets in "original" cities like Brentwood, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and West L.A. How long will people enjoy the nostalgia, and will that be enough to carry the brand through for another few decades? The jury's still out on the fare, but seeing this kind of full refresh is definitely encouraging to see. And with the experience that Michaels and Doherty brings to the operations side, it's probably a solid bet.
