Ike's Place Just Needs to Open Already in Westwood

Ike's Place, the San Francisco sandwich chain, is just a few days away from opening, it seems, right in the heart of Westwood.

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

It's been a strange tale with Ike's Place Sandwiches, the chain sandwich spot from San Francisco that was supposed to open for over a year in Westwood. After a dispute with the original operator and some lease difficulties, Ike's Place is seriously ready to open this time, with a nearly built out interior. Still no word on the official opening, but Westwood office workers and college students will very soon have a bona fide Ike's Place in their hands. Hopefully, if things don't take a turn for the worse this time.
