Roll 'n Rye, which has been serving Jewish deli fare in Culver City for over 40 years, closed last Sunday without much fanfare and warning to customers. A tipster writes in to say that the owner Rita Zide was retiring and wasn't planning to continuing the business. With an extensive menu of things like pastrami, lox, and matzoh ball soup, it was perhaps the last of its kind in Culver City. Jewish deli fans will have to go over to West LA at Lenny's for their corned beef fix.
