The San Francisco sandwich legend is now serving in the heart of Westwood, which makes perfect sense for the myriad college students.

A long time coming, Ike's Place, the lauded San Francisco sandwich spot, is finally serving in Westwood, with a soft opening lasting through the weekend (that means 50% off sandwiches!). Also, owner Ike Shehadeh is coming to town on Monday, bringing legitimacy to this operation that almost went awry.

Just yesterday, when they were soft open, they were offering free sandwiches to people passing by. Already Yelp reviewers have hit the place with five-star reviews (based on those freebies), but the excitement is palpable, especially from vegans, who recognize this as one of the better places to get a plant-based sandwich.

Check out the San Francisco menu here, which should have a lot of similarity to the one here in Westwood.
