The northern stretch of Glendale isn't always the easiest place to open something as charming as a bakery, but Denise Assad, who's been hustling at local farmer markets with her delectable pastries and pies, is realizing a dream with her new Bountiful Bakery.
Opened this week and located on North Verdugo Road in a compact 700 square foot space, Assad presents a daily mix of jelly donuts, chocolate babkas, cones, muffins, and bread puddings in the morning served with Stumptown Coffee. In the afternoon, sea salt chocolate chunk cookies, salted caramel pecan bars, and a slew of cakes, pies, and more. For something savory, try a hand pie stuffed with spinach and feta, or a chicken pot pie for something that'll strike at pure comfort.
