Though word began to trickle out over the weekend, today comes confirmation from a tipster that Lindy & Grundy, the popular specialty butcher shop on Fairfax just next to Commissary Coffee, has closed its doors after selling out of all goods over the weekend. Founders Amelia Posada and Erika Nakamura opened three years ago with plenty of media attention and a rabid following. Focusing on locally and sustainably raised meats, it was the kind of new school butcher that this city really needed. Since then, other shops like A Cut Above and Belcampo have begun to churn out high quality meats around town.
Despite years of success, the couple parted ways a few months ago, with Nakamura heading to New York before returning over the past weekend. Instagram photos confirmed Nakamura's return, though the final fate of the shop might come down to who will own the shop in the long run. Does anyone know what's going to happen to Lindy & Grundy?
