Kris Keith's design firm will completely change up the complex, which was built in 2001, adding new food concepts and building out a swell new outdoor dining space.

Kris Keith has always been about focusing his design and food concepts in and around Hollywood, and what grander place to land than Hollywood & Highland. The mega tourist zone is home to Dolby Theater, which hosts the Oscars every year, but the dining scene has been mostly geared toward those who come in from out of town. While the restaurant selections might not veer too far from that, at least Keith will bring a bit of home-grown flavor to the complex, which he's renaming The Deck: Dining Above the Blvd.

Will it suffer the same fate as Santa Monica's SM Place Dining Deck, which hovers above myriad tourists but doesn't necessarily fill up every day? Or will it bustle in the vein of Grand Central Market? What we do know is that it will definitely be a food court, which is about as American as anything. No word on opening date at the moment.
