The cupcake fad revolution still has some life left in it, with Big Sugar Bakeshop opening its second location in Downtown's Financial District. Starting yesterday, the delectable desserts were on display from owner Mary Odson, who's been featured on Food Network, among other outlets. And since there are always office birthday parties to celebrate, the cupcakery offers free birthday candles on the counter.
In addition to cupcakes, find cakes, cookies, morning pastries and seasonal pies, making this place a sweets lover's Swiss army knife. Big Sugar's first shop opened in Studio City back in 2006. Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, closed Sundays.
