The Roost, once known as Stefan's at LA Farm, has switched concepts and is now serving it's rustic, refined and seasonal American cuisine at the Lantana property in Santa Monica. Although the location is hard to find, once inside, one will find the same contemporary farmhouse décor.
With many years of experience in New York City, The Roost's Chef John Keenan and General Manager Anthony Trinicanello, both cultivated their skills at Tom Colicchio's Craft Los Angeles. While Chef Keenan was most recently the Executive Chef at Soho House, Trinicanello became a Level III Sommelier and wine educator. With that being said, the extensive international wine list compliments Keenan's dishes well.
For lunch, try a rotisserie chicken salad with smoked shallots, olives, capers, peppers provolone picante and an aioli. For dinner, start with crispy oysters, followed by lobster spaghetti with broccolini, celery and crème fraiche. Want something more casual? The bar fare has a wonderful list including a blackberry cobbler cocktail with vodka, fresh blackberries, vermouth, lemon and honey. Accompany that with steak tartare or deviled eggs with crispy pork belly.
The lunch and dinner menu's are available on their website, and the happy hour menu incorporates $2 off all bar fare (minus the oysters) and well drinks, beers and house wines for $5, Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
