It's been a while since Eater has heard news of The Lost Knight, the British pub that was taking over the old Barragan's space on Sunset in Echo Park. Well, Anglophiles and craft beer lovers rejoice because looks like the restaurant is well on its way to opening in a few weeks.
A sneak peak at the menu shows decidedly traditional English fare. Take the signature dish, the Stargazy pie. The Cornish specialty, originating from the 16th century, is essentially a fish pie, with the defining characteristic of having a fish head peek through the crust. The Lost Knight's pie will feature a whole Idaho trout with roasted parsnip puree cooked in puff pastry and, of course, adorned with the trout's head.
Wash the pie down with a curated selection of craft beers, small production wines, and a seasonal selection of British cocktails made with London Dry and Old Tom gins. Seems like it will have all the makings of a jolly good time.
