Patina Launches Wine After Work Series, Vegan Chili Cook Off Hitting Burbank

And Oscars-inspired cocktails arrive at the Four Seasons LA.

The former Patina at the ground level of the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles.

DOWNTOWN— Patina wants to teach you how to be a better wine drinker. The aptly titled "Wine After Work" series is designed for businessmen and businesswomen interested in learning more about French wines. Sommelier Silvestre Fernandes will instruct budding oenophiles on tips, etiquette, and international drinking customs designed to impress clients and colleagues. For $50 a person including five wine pours and a selection from the artisanal cheese cart, it's not a bad way to step up your business game. Reservations can be made at 213-972-3331.

BEVERLY HILLS— Awards season is upon us, and Windows Lounge at the Four Seasons Los Angeles has designed a slew of cocktails celebrating the Oscars. Think libations like the For Your Consideration, with Hayman's Old Tom gin, lemon, rosemary-pear syrup, and Moet & Chandon brut champagne, or How to Train Your Palate, with peach vodka, rose champagne, peach foam, and gold dust.

BURBANK— Tony's Dart's Away, Burbank's California-only gastropub, will be hosting the 3rd annual Vegan Chili Cook Off on Sunday, February 22. Five chefs will battle it out for vegan chili glory beginning at noon. Admission is $10 and includes five 3 oz. chili tastings and a ballot to vote for the People's Choice winner.
