800 Degrees Turns Provecho Into Downtown Pizza Den Next Week

The long-empty eatery is ready to fire up some pies.

Downtown denizens rejoice: there's more pizza on its way. This time in the form of bustling quick-service pie spot 800 Degrees, which already boasts four Los Angeles area outlets between LAX and Pasadena. The downtown debut of the fast-casual pizza purveyor is set for Monday, January 24.

The location, aptly enough at 800 Wilshire Blvd., was formerly the ill-fated Provecho, which was ahead of the upscale modern Mexican trend by about five years — too long to stick around, sadly. Last anyone heard, the restaurant space was being formatted into a made-for-TV set, but now it's back and (almost) ready to fire up some pies. Just in time too, considering the growth that part of downtown has experienced since Provecho's closure a few years ago.

Guests can expect a full bar inside the large-ish space, which is always a boon when ordering pizza. Here's to hoping the interior is as beautiful as the recent Pasadena addition.
