Hollywood can add an Italian concept to the lunchtime hub that is the stretch of Sunset Boulevard around Vine. Ciabatta Bar, the newest restaurant by Mauro Corbia of celeb hotspot Mauro's Café inside Fred Segal Melrose, will bring Italian favorites with a few LA staples to Hollywood starting sometime in February.
The menu reads like an Italian American "best of" list. Start a leisurely lunch with a plate of antipasti or bruschette and move on to a variety of panini and pasta. Those looking for something lighter (it is Hollywood) can order salads like the organic quinoa or tonno with white tuna, or eggs like the burrata omelette or verde scramble with egg white and spinach.
Of course, no café in LA would be complete without a smoothie bar. Along with more standard options, Ciabatta Bar is serving up the Sweet Avocado, with avocado, spinach, and banana, and the Cioccolato, with banana, dates and chocolate. The menu rounds out with Intelligentsia Coffee and a few flavors of gelato, making it a pretty comprehensive one-stop lunch shop.
Ciabatta Bar is due to open in Hollywood in February, with another outlet coming to LAX Terminal 2 opening in July 2015.
