La Casita Mexicana Team Once Again Pushes Back Mexicano Debut in Baldwin Hills

Looks like Mexicano will just have to wait, at least for now. Though word has been trickling out for weeks about soft-opens, friends and family nights and a restaurant that’s ready to go (Jaime Martin del Campo and Ramiro Arvizu had previously mentioned that they’d hired staff when Eater last spoke to them), Mexicano is still nowhere to be seen.

Details remain scarce and interior photos even more rare, but it now looks like the Baldwin Hills sit down restaurant from the La Casita Mexicana team is two to three weeks away. That’s not much solace to the neighborhood, however, as Mexicano has been an anticipated opening since at least last summer.

For now, the team’s fast casual concept in the same Baldwin Hills Crenshaw shopping plaza, Flautas, is at least ready and rolling.
