Cava Grill Is the West Valley's Shimmering New Mediterranean Fast Casual Spot

The DC brand brings Mediterranean flavors out west.

Healthy-eating Cava Grill has officially landed its first Los Angeles location, fresh on the heels of a few rounds of funding that propelled the DC-based business to multi-million dollar heights. The inaugural West Coast outlet is tucked into the massive new West Valley retail space Village at Westfield Topanga, with plans to officially open doors this Thursday.

Cava Grill’s cash infusion has propelled the Mediterranean casual eatery, which has become increasingly popular in the nation’s capitol, to new heights, though the foundation of their business model remains the same. Much like local brand Tender Greens (which itself just got a boost of investment from Union Square Hospitality), the vibe for Cava is one of quick service, hip decor, and healthy eating.

Reclaimed wood and white subway tiles lock in the look, while the menu adds customization to base flavors like salads, pita breads, or grain bowls. The open-kitchen format keeps everything within easy view as well, and gives customers ultimate access to pick and choose the ingredients they're after.

Cava Grill opens this Thursday, October 15 with a so-called Community Day, which means free lunch for anyone from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and gratis dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be a donation bucket, though, with proceeds benefitting the Garden School Foundation and the Topanga Police Department's Healthy Lifestyle Program. Regular daily hours from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. will kick off on Friday.
