Button Mash will be playing games soon

The long-time-coming Echo Park arcade space is hosting some light friends and family nights this week, with plans to open very soon after. Getting excited for the return of Starry Kitchen (and, yes, their balls)? You can keep up with the cooking on their Instagram feed.

Wexler's Deli joins the Caviar movement

Sick of schlepping to Grand Central Market (or, soon, to Santa Monica) for your bagel and lox fix? Well, Wexler's is teaming up with delivery service Caviar as of today, so now you can have your smoked fish delivered right to your doorstep. Not a bad deal at all.

ABInBev and SABMiller really did just merge

That means one company will brew one out of every three beers in the world, basically. Bad news for most smaller breweries, but good news for the likes of Golden Road, which just agreed to a buyout from the Goliath. Their reasoning? They 'wanted to be on the winning team'. That sounds about right, given the unstoppable nature of a beer company with that much market share.

Andy Ricker gets the blessing he needed

Now that reservations for Pok Pok LA are officially live, it was time for chef/owner Andy Ricker to get the recognition he truly needs: those of some nearby monks. Honestly, this photo is pretty wonderful for everyone involved.

Night + Market makes its own "Jello Curry"

More appropriately named gaeng kradang, this oddball dish comes from the far north of Thailand and is popular in the winter months. It's essentially a gelatinous head cheese concoction, served with all manner of pig parts and a side of sticky rice. Now available at both locations, for the adventurous among us.

Heal the Bay wants to help protect LA from El Niño

Well, they want to help you help protect LA from the upcoming winter storm session known as El Niño, more specifically, by drinking up at a few Santa Monica spots for their so-called El Niño Week. The idea is simple: drink a specific El Niño cocktail from places like Cassia, The Lobster, Hotel Casa Del Mar, Locanda del Lago or Rusty’s Surf Ranch, and some of the proceeds will go to the ocean-saving, beach-protecting organization.

Berri's Kitchen keeps expanding

Their most recent location is right on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, just west of La Brea, and it opens on Friday. Serving simple salads, pizzas, sandwiches, and the like, Berri's aims to be a casual stop for a neighborhood that could sorely use it.
