More news on those secretive Japanese noodle-makers stepping into Westwood, as Musashiya Udon plans for an October 28 arrival. Housed in the former Top N One Ramen Ex location on Gayley Avenue, it looks as though the quiet team behind the noodle concept has been hard at work dialing things in with several friends and family nights so far.

They’ve also been working diligently to get the space up to snuff, transforming the former quick-service location into something more pleasurable to dine in. The previous ramen iteration of the address was colorfully mismatched (and featured bleak depictions of ninjas on the walls), but Musashiya Udon is wonderfully sleek, filled with blond wood, loads of communal seating, and elegant touches throughout.

As for the menu, it’s still coming together in full, but for now they seem to be pushing both hot and cold udon, served with miso or dip-noodle style. There are also options for tempura and karaage.

Musashiya Udon plans to open on Wednesday, October 28 at 11 a.m., and keep daily hours thereafter.
