Watch Phil Rosenthal Make Huckleberry's Vanilla Pancakes With Zoe Nathan's Dad

The Everybody Loves Raymond creator learns how to flip a flapjack.

Farley Elliott is the Senior Editor at Eater LA and the author of Los Angeles Street Food: A History From Tamaleros to Taco Trucks. He covers restaurants in every form, from breaking news to the culture, people, and history that surrounds LA's dining landscape.

Everybody loves Phil Rosenthal, the humorous creator of Ray Romano's namesake sitcom, which ran for over 200 episodes between 1996 and 2005. But the man makes no bones about being an excellent cook.

Instead, as evidenced by the above clip from Rosenthal's new PBS food and travel series I'll Have What Phil's Having, he'd rather leave the cooking to others, like Zoe Nathan's dad. Apparently the vanilla pancake recipe used at Nathan's Huckleberry restaurant in Santa Monica is her own father's, and together the two men whip up a batch and deliver the goods to some unsuspecting customers.

The whole season finale episode of What Phil's Having actually focuses on L.A., and includes cameos by Roy Choi, Bill Esparza, and more. You can check out the series here.
