The larger-than-life Evan Funke has been surprisingly quiet of late, popping up at various spots for a few nights only, following the dissolution of the Culver City partnership that brought his time at beloved handmade pasta restaurant Bucato to a close.

For his next mini-adventure, Funke will be doing a one-night-only collaboration dinner with the Hedley & Bennett apron squad at their new facility in Vernon. The plan is to serve a five-course meal that packs in the hearty flavors of Rome. Of course pasta will play a part, but it’s just as likely that Funke has a few other interesting takes up his sleeves — potentially even his porchetta, which has always been in high demand.

The five-course dinner goes down on Saturday, November 14 and will include a cocktail hour at 7 p.m before a seated dinner at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale November 1 and cost $95, which is inclusive of wine pairings.
