The owners of Alma’s restaurant space have already begun the process of putting the place back up for lease. In a posting to Loopnet yesterday, brokers BRC Advisors have re-listed the address at 925 S. Broadway for $6,400 per month. There's one catch: the key money, or the cash you'll need to actually take over the lease, clocks in at $250,000, so be ready to open your checkbook. Then again, that key money is variable on the highest number, so let the bidding begin.

The 1,300 square foot space (plus a 1,000 s.f. office area) comes with an approved conditional use permit for selling beer and wine until 2 a.m. and is obviously already in workable shape — it’s still being used by Alma at the moment — so it’s likely there’s going to be a quick turnaround for the restaurant come later this fall.

After all, that stretch of Broadway continues to grow with nearby rental and retail possibilities, and there’s certainly been lots of buzz about (what will eventually be) the previous tenants on site. Sort of like True Burger on La Brea jumping into the original Umami location after the burger brand left, you might even see something similar to Alma climb in with hopes of trading on those past successes.
