Golden Road Anaheim Opens Saturday With Free Tacos for Everyone

Just about nine months after news first landed on Eater, Golden Road Brewing’s Orange County expansion is (at least partially) up and running. The 56,000 square foot facility sits literally across the street from Angel Stadium in Anaheim, and is going to drastically change the way the L.A. brewery makes and distributes their beer by placing an anchor in the still-coming OC craft beer market.

The expansion into Orange County has long been planned by Golden Road, and Anaheim seemed more than willing to jump onboard the craft beer train and help facilitate the new build-out, making everything as seamless as possible. No small feat for a gigantic operation like this — the new building will eventually dwarf L.A.’s current footprint — which will also include a retail and taproom component, as well as an eventual full restaurant.

For now though, it’s just the taproom and a small brewing system that will eventually be run by legendary OC brewer Viktor Novak, who previously won awards for TAP Fish House & Brewery. Mostly the system will be used to make specialty beers and one-off options for the local market, as well as whatever they feel like trying out and putting on at the taproom.

The opening party for Golden Road Anaheim is this Saturday at noon, and will include include free tacos to the first 200 guests in line from none other than Soho Tacos. The 1,700 square foot taproom will be open, and includes an outdoor patio space that’s loaded with games, much like the L.A. original. Moving forward, hours will run from 4 p.m. to midnight weekdays, with expanded hours to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. hours on Sundays.
