Pizza's not the only thing popping in Pasadena: Popular sushi semi-chain Sugarfish has finally opened its doors in The Commons at Pasadena off of Lake Avenue, behind Lemonade.
The hotly anticipated Pasadena location, which is now Sushi Nozawa, LLC's eleventh Sugarfish outlet, brings a heavy hitter to Lake Ave., which is currently served by The Counter, New American restaurant SECO, and a host of sandwich chains catering to nearby office workers.
Diners can expect the signature slightly sweet and warm rice to accompany its fresh fish offerings, and of course, the (relatively) affordable omakases that come in three tiers: Trust Me Lite ($22), Trust Me ($32) and the Nozawa, which currently clocks in at $42 (prices subject to change).
As always, service is first-come, first-served with no reservations taken. Seating is sparse and limited to a couple tables and a bar, so expect long wait times in what's sure to be a new mainstay in the Pasadena food scene.
